Students participating in Engineering Explorations Winter Edition will be exposed to various disciplines of engineering in a fun and exciting environment! They also keep ALL projects they fabricate!  The Winter Edition is an efficient enrichment program designed to students be "Minds On while doing Hands On" activities.  These include designing your own puzzle in a box and Ping Pog Launchers in the Simple STEM course.  Design and building wooden birdhouses in the Woodworking Fundamentals course.  Build your own mini-drone and learn to solder in the Drones and Electronics course.  Each day during their “technology recess” students will get to fly quad-copter drones, drive RC cars, play vintage video games, and examine the latest technologies such as virtual reality.  We strive to build not only your child’s academic skills but their leadership skills as well through cooperative learning in a supportive environment.

Simply STEM

(recommended ages: 8-10)

Engineering is all around us!  Students will learn STEM principles and apply them to hands-on activities that are both fun and challenging.  Students will design their own projects and evaluate their performance to make the necessary changes to their designs.

  Student projects are:

  • Puzzle in a Box

  • Ping Pong Ball Launcher

Woodworking Fundamentals

(recommended ages: 9-14)

Wood is a tremendous material to design and build with!  Students will learn about basic hand tools used in woodworking and go through the design process to produced quality woodworking projects.

  • Wooden Birdhouse or Toolbox or Clock
  • Electronics Device Stand

Drones and Electronics

(recommended ages 10-15)

Drones and Electronics, two of the hottest trends in Technology Education! Students will learn about how drones fly by examining each electronic component and how they work.  They will then get to build and fly their own mini-drone.  Before building their drone they will learn soldering basics and fabricate a simple electronics circuit.

  • Drones - build and fly your own mini-drone

  • Learning to Solder Kit
